Tash-Rabat is an ancient stone building hidden in a mountain valley near the Chinese border. It was built over 500 years ago as a “mountain hotel” (Caravanserai) for traders on the Silk Road. It was a place for safety and warmth when the weather was bad.
Inside the Shadows. The building is almost completely intact. Inside, it’s dark and silent with about 30 stone rooms. Some say there are secret tunnels hidden beneath the floors. Standing here, you can almost hear the voices of the old merchants from centuries ago.
Life in the High Valley. The valley is very quiet, sitting at 3,200 meters. You’ll see yaks grazing and eagles flying, but no villages. At night, the stars are incredibly bright because the area is so far from any city lights.
