Explore the field of “balbals” (stone ancestors) before continuing into the mountains. Upon arrival in Chong-Kemin, settle into your guesthouse and enjoy a homemade lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy an easy horse-riding session through the coniferous forests and local village trails. End the day with dinner and a peaceful overnight stay in the valley.

After the show, we stop in Kochkor for lunch at a local cafe to eat and rest before the mountain drive.
From Kochkor, we head up the Kalmak Ashuu pass to Lake Son-Kul, located at 3,000 meters. This high-altitude lake is surrounded by open pastures where shepherds live during the summer. We will spend the night in a yurt camp at Son-Kul. You’ll have dinner at the camp and sleep in a yurt, experiencing the quiet and the stars of the high mountains.

The highlight of the return journey is crossing the Too-Ashuu Pass, which sits at an elevation of 3,400 meters. We will drive through the 2.5 km tunnel that cuts through the mountain range and then descend a series of dramatic switchbacks that offer panoramic views of the Chuy Valley below.
Upon arriving in Bishkek, we will start a city tour to see the capital’s main sights. We’ll visit Ala-Too Square, the heart of the city, to see the Manas Monument and watch the changing of the guard at the massive Kyrgyz flag.
